Typography Chocolate

hi! It’s been a while, I know… But in today’s post I have this nice chocolate-typography-illustration-slash-poster-thingie, not the “agun” drawing that I was talking about in the post before this one. Anyways, this was also an assignment for our typography class: we had to choose a subject, mine was chocolate, and then create a silhouette form, which defines the subject. And into it create hand written typography, that emphases the subject itself. Hope you have a chocolaty day! :D

Just Type and Draw

So it is time to wake up and start to draw some school assignments. This is for typography 2 course, which includes this kind of “free” typography. I got this idea when I was reading a book, and I noticed, that I was concentrating on a gemena letter “g”. It was looking like a trigger from a hand gun –> hmm… a gun -> agun: and the base structure was decided. I googled old hand guns and I took the metal carvings as the direction for my design for this typography thingie. The image is rough and I’ve been working on this form for a while, so now I just have to try few different things. In this one, “u” and “n” are going to be negative letters and the floral elements around them will create the illusion of two white/negative letters. The “g” will be the trigger part, and “a” will be the haft, with some added floral elements. It needs some tweaking here and there, well actually a lot! The “a” is too high and a bit too small and the “g” is too small for its lower parts, just for example.

Here is today’s sketch for this one: I poorly composed it in the paper, but the direction is good. I’ll post the final “agun” in week or two, when it is done. And hopefully I can manage to do a print of it on a t-shirt? Please feel free to comment.

green lantern day

I haven’t done anything much lately, well after all it is holiday time now. So here is a new post for you guys. Today’s illustration is about the Green Lanterns. After seen the big bang theory series, I’ve discovered the green lanterns; thanks to sheldon and his friends. Then I bought one GL comic book, and the the movie was released, and today I watched the movie from dvd. Nice. I thought that batman was cool, but what is batman when there is a man, a green lantern, who does not fear the darkness? Well I guess that the batman is just a ordinary guy with dark cape and pointy ears, hahaha :D but nonetheless, batman is one of my favorites, and I’m not going to deny that :)

…and of course there is a lot of stupid things left there, but it is a speed paining, and I’m pleased of the atmosphere, that it holds up. I really should paint more… till next time!

Practice

Today was a really weird day: everything was difficult, and I felt like I’m not able to do anything correctly. But, two hours ago I decide to practice my digi-painting-skills, googled a photo and just started to paint what I saw. I was so tired all the time I was painting, but somehow it helped me a lot. It is not finished, but it was good practice. Good night.

Doodelings…?

It’s been a while, I know. Many things going on, I have to think a lot and my power level is running low. The bw-painting is few days old, and the purple one is fresh, I made it few minutes ago— both are just fine: I need practice. Hope you like them.

My Painting on a Wall

Hi! Today was a great day. I hung up my first “canvas-printed” digital painting with my aunt to her home! It is a really large print, 120x80cm! I still need some practicing with interior photography and maybe some another lens than 35mm-barrel tube: lines goes all away in different directions. Click here, to see the older post concerning about the painting itself. I had to crop the painting to 2:3 scale, because the printing house did not  do any canvas printings in 16:9 scale. Feel free to comment! :)
